Job summary

Pac Seating Systems Llc seeks a Certification Engineer to develop and execute FAA- and OEM-compliant certification programs for seats and related assemblies. You will coordinate test plans, document results, and interface with FAA authorities, OEMs, and internal teams.

This is a 100% onsite role in Palm City, FL, with occasional travel. A mechanical or aerospace background and 6+ years of certification experience are required to manage deliverables within schedule and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 6+ years of experience in certification engineering.
• Knowledge of FAA Part 21 and Part 25 and Boeing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop certification test plans and reports for FAA and OEM requirements.
• Coordinate with project teams on scope, schedule, design details, quotes, risks.
• Maintain certification records and prepare FAA/ODA submissions.

It is our expectation that each employee will offer his/her services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.Position Overview:The Certification Engineer is responsible for developing and executing certification programs to demonstrate compliance to regulatory and OEM requirements.Essential Functions:Develop certification test plans and reports ensuring compliance to regulatory and OEM requirementsCommunicate with project team members to identify scope of work, schedule, design details, quotes, risks, and other pertinent factors impacting certificationOversee and assist as necessary with test article build and conformityIdentify potential certification issues and any adverse impact; communicate any certification related information to supervisor and impacted disciplines. Analyze problems and derive appropriate solutionsDevelop tools, as necessary, to track deliverables, testing, compliance findings, to assure on-time completion of certification tasks. Maintain accurate and up-to-date certification recordsCompiles FAA certification documentation for submission to regulatory agencies and completion centers/ODADevelop and execute certification programs for seats/divans per FAA guidelines/TSO/ETSO/14CFR part 21, 25 and airframe guidelinesPrepares documentation for assigned projects to include certification documents, correspondence as well as planning and writing minutes of meetings between Company and the Civil Aviation AuthoritiesEnsures successful completion of the assigned project phase within the budgeted time and cost constraintsParticipate in defining engineering approaches and in planning/scheduling workCoordinating certification and continued airworthiness activities within the companyMay represent the company in meetings with government authorities as well as taking part in international working groups and committeesInterpreting airworthiness requirements and advising appropriate departments in all matters related to airworthiness and certificationMay interface with customers, OEMs, FAA, and suppliers to ensure project timeline is achievedAct as subject matter expert for certification issues in a variety of areas, including flammability, dynamic and static testing, design compliance, and aircraft installation and integrationReview certification documents of peers for accuracy and completenessMonitor latest industry issues and documents; communicate information to applicable team members100% onsite; however, may require travel (up to 10%) to support external testingMaintain a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all company policies and proceduresMaintain and protect the confidentiality of the Company’s information and productsMay require work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary to meet program objectives and deadlinesJob Specifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multitaskExceptional organization skills with strong attention to detailExcellent teamwork skills and high degree of initiative requiredExceptional communication, both written and verbalWork independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiativeMust be proficient with MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)Experience in Creo/Pro-E and AutoCADDetailed knowledge of TSO processes and general FAA regulationsKnowledge of FAA (Part 21 and Part 25) and Boeing requirementsEducation, Certifications, and Experience:Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred6+ years’ experienceMust have taken the current FAA sponsored Engineering Designee Initial Training CoursePhysical Demands and Work Environment:Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.All employees are expected to adhere to Company safety policies and wear personal protective equipment when exposed to work areas or performing tasks where it is required.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
