Qualifications

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Sr. Casualty Claims Examiner Construction Defect to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This remote role focuses on managing complex construction defect casualty claims from initial notice through resolution. You will handle moderate to high exposure files, assess coverage, and work closely with defense counsel, experts, and other stakeholders to support timely, well-documented claim outcomes. The position requires strong judgment, technical claims expertise, and the ability to communicate clearly in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $125,000 – $145,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Make initial contacts with interested parties
• Handle moderate to high exposure construction defect claims
• Analyze coverage and draft coverage position letters
• Conduct liability investigations
• Retain and coordinate with defense counsel and experts
• Establish timely indemnity and expense reserves
• Draft comprehensive reports for reserve and settlement authority

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 7+ years of construction defect claims experience
• Professional designations such as CPCU, SCLA, AIC, or JD are a plus
• Must be licensed or able to become licensed in required states
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Advanced knowledge of end-to-end claims handling
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
