Job summary

Textron is seeking a Sr. Calibration Technician in Maryland to set up, calibrate, and operate equipment used across production, engineering, and field support. You will capture calibration data in a web-based database and create calibration procedures for new gear.

  • Execute lab work orders, calibrating instruments including meters, scopes, generators, pressure gauges, temperature equipment, counters, analyzers, power supplies, RF equipment, test tools, amplifiers, probes, torque wrenches, ESD benches, and weight scales.
  • Set up, operate, test, detail, and calibrate systems or specialized equipment following established policies and procedures.
  • Assist senior technicians and engineers in basic process development or evaluation, applying procedures and technical theory within assigned product areas.

About This Role

The Sr. Calibration Technician will set up, calibrate, and operate equipment used in production, engineering and field support departments. The technician will work from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models, capture calibration outcomes and data using a web-based database application, and create calibration processes and procedures for new equipment. The role also involves performing maintenance or small repairs of equipment as required and executing work orders within the calibration lab according to established frequency schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Execute lab work orders, calibrating instruments including meters, scopes, generators, pressure gauges, temperature equipment, counters, analyzers, power supplies, RF equipment, test tools, amplifiers, probes, torque wrenches, ESD benches, and weight scales.
  • Set up, operate, test, detail, and calibrate systems or specialized equipment following established policies and procedures.
  • Assist senior technicians and engineers in basic process development or evaluation, applying procedures and technical theory within assigned product areas.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with a calibration database program and/or an MRP program such as Oracle.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a calibration lab.
  • Strong PC skills.

  • Excellent organizational and follow‑up skills.
  • Ability to obtain a “Secret” level security clearance.
Education
  • Technical program, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree in a technical related field preferred.
