Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling, LLC, a Madison Air company, seeks a Sr. Buyer/Planner in Oklahoma City. This role focuses on sourcing, purchasing, and managing materials for manufacturing while optimizing supplier performance and inventory levels.

Hybrid work arrangement includes three days on site and two days remote. The Sr. Buyer/Planner will partner with engineering, production, and QA to drive cost savings and ensure timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; APICS/CPM/CPSM preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years in supply chain or related field.
• Customer experience mindset and strong communication in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Represent the purchasing organization in daily operation updates.
• Maintain on-time delivery of supplier shipments.
• Manage and implement strategies to meet production schedules.
• Maintain departmental reports for management (open orders, vendor on-time delivery).
• Ensure accuracy and proper approval for all purchase orders placed.
• Lead supplier relationships and resolve invoicing disputes with accounting.
• Meet inventory targets and provide monthly forecasts to suppliers.
• Assist with documenting departmental processes and act as backup for purchasing manager.

This role ensures the timely procurement of quality materials at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships and optimizing inventory levels. The Senior Buyer will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality, to drive cost savings and improve supplier performance.
