Job summary

Hunter Hamilton is seeking a Senior Buyer in Ogden, Utah. The role is onsite Monday through Thursday with remote Fridays and focuses on procurement for manufacturing operations, supplier relationships, and contract negotiations.

You will develop strategies with Purchasing Leadership, manage inventory, monitor supplier performance, and deliver timely, compliant procurement reports. Travel and cross‑functional collaboration are involved as part of standard duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 7-10 years of procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with global sourcing and international trade regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for cost-effective and timely materials and services.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to achieve best value.
• Monitor supplier performance and address quality, delivery, or cost issues.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure materials meet specs.
• Manage inventory levels to optimize stock and reduce excess inventory.
• Prepare and present procurement reports and analysis to senior management.

• Mentor and train junior procurement staff.

Our Background

We are a clean-energy technology company that captures harmful methane gas emissions and converts them into electricity. We use a highly specialized Stirling engine to burn the methane gas and make electricity that powers large air compressors. The clean compressed air can be used to power equipment or create energy grids.

Overview

The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, components, and services necessary for the manufacturing operations. This role involves developing and maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials.

Responsibilities

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.

Work Environment

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift - 15 pounds with or without assistance.
• Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
• Must be able to travel including occasional weekend travel (10% of the time; mostly North American based, but 30% will be international)
