Job summary

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and process requirements.

• Draft BRD, FRD, RTM, business cases, user stories, and test cases; map data and requirements.

• Conduct gap analyses, data analysis, and cost‑benefit studies; support testing and UAT.
• Advise on best practices, tools, and Agile processes; collaborate with QA, devs, and project staff.

Mican Technologies, Inc. has multiple openings for the position of Sr. Business Systems Analyst (Ref# SBSA2024) to work in Bear, DE and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Job Duties:

Gather, analyze, and document detailed business and process requirements. Plan, design, and launch efficient business systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. Elicit comprehensive business requirements and use cases from clients and recommend appropriate solutions. Facilitate JAD sessions, meetings, questionnaires, storyboard presentation, workshops, and walkthroughs with business users and subject‑matter experts (SME) for business and technical requirements. Draft and document business requirements in the form of Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Requirements Document (FRD), Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM), business cases, user stories, and test cases. Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Conduct gap analysis between application and stated customer requirements and collaborate with architects and developers to estimate project impact. Work with IT partners to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Work closely with other business analysts, developers, testers, and production support through each stage of the software development life‑cycle and demonstrate both existing and new functionality to the customer stakeholders. Develop and maintain understanding of customer workflows and business needs to support. Conduct business process analysis and cost‑benefit analysis studies. Work with the clients to demonstrate the changes to the system to ensure all relevant business needs are addressed. Deliver precise functional specifications to include functional hierarchy, workflow, business rules, interface design and definitions, outstanding issues, data analysis, and data mapping to clients and development staff. Create test plans, write test scripts and/or scenarios, and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT). Facilitate evaluation of delivered technology solution to ensure it satisfies the business needs. Recommend business analysis best practices, tools, and methodologies towards standardization of deliverables and procedures, and collaborate with development and QA leads to uphold and improve Agile processes. Use of Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, MS Visio, MS Project, MS SharePoint, Rational RequisitePro, UML, RUP, SQL Server, HP ALM, and MS Office. Travel and/or relocation to unanticipated locations required.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical / Electronics Engineering, CIS, MIS, or a related field. Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Systems Analyst, Programmer Analyst, Project Engineer, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein.
