Job summary

Mican Technologies, Inc. in Bear, DE seeks a Sr. IT Developer to design, develop, and deploy software solutions across cloud platforms. You will monitor health metrics, implement scalable monitoring with Splunk, and drive API integrations with ServiceNow, CMDB, and JIRA.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation such as Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or Project Lead.
• A Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 5 years of progressive experience is acceptable in lieu of the required education and experience.
• Position requires 2 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, SAFe, and DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, and support business applications software.
• Monitor and measure health metrics for cloud infrastructure services across Azure, AWS, IBM cloud, and on‑premise.
• Administer Splunk: indexes planning, data retention, access controls, and health KPIs.

• Lead technical deep dives to elicit health requirements from stakeholders and teams.
• Deliver projects using Agile/SAFe methodologies and managed services delivery models.

Mican Technologies, Inc. has an opening for the position of Sr. IT Developer (Ref# SID715NK) to work in Bear, DE and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.

Job Duties:

Design, develop, implement, test, maintain, and support business and computer applications software or specialized utility programs, and major enhancement of existing systems. Design and develop solutions to monitor and measure health metrics for cloud infrastructure services hosted on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM cloud, and on-premise using Splunk, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, SQL Server, Azure DevOps, Python, Microsoft .Net, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and Dynatrace. Responsible for Splunk administration activities for indexes planning, creation and management, data retention policies, and applying role-based access permissions. Design and develop solutions to monitor Splunk platform health with KPIs. Identify technical / functional KPIs for Azure cloud infrastructure resources. Leverage machine learning algorithms in Splunk to develop predictive analytics, automated decision making, anomaly detection and problem auto-mitigation framework. Develop APIs and interfaces between Splunk, ServiceNow, configuration management database (CMDB), JIRA, Webhooks, and Phantom/SOAR playbooks integrations. Control introduction of monitoring solution in production and acquire sign-off from stakeholders. Lead and drive technical deep dive sessions to elicit AWS and Azure infrastructure and applications resources health requirements with project stakeholders, application teams, DevOps teams, network team, and support management team. Execute testing and fix issues to secure sign-off from customer. Participate in major incident calls and defect triage meetings to provide preliminary root cause analysis from the solution. Responsible for project execution, delivery of projects and solutions using custom and industry methodologies including Agile and SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) and partner tools and platforms. Provide comprehensive project management of Splunk administration and monitor solution development in a managed services delivery model. Lead technical reviews and problem-solving sessions to remediate technical blockers / impediments for project delivery technical team. Provide effort and schedule estimates for design and development of monitoring applications, including testing and post-production support. Travel and/or relocation required.

Plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or 2 years in a related occupation including Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, Project Lead, or related experience. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in any field of study plus 5 years of progressive experience in lieu of the required education and experience. A combination of foreign post-secondary education determined to be equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s degree is acceptable. Position requires 2 years of experience with cloud infrastructure, SAFe, and DevOps. Will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience as per the requirements cited herein. 40hrs/week.
