Avalara's Marketing Technology team needs a Sr. Business Analyst to drive roadmap and delivery across two critical systems: our lead intake/enrichment/routing services and the Marketo platform (MAU) that powers campaign execution. Reporting to our Director of Enterprise Sytems, Marketing Technology, you'll be the person who turns Marketing, RevOps, and Engineering priorities into a single, prioritized backlog with measurable outcomes. Unlike product roles scoped to one system, you'll own the connective tissue between lead data quality and campaign delivery, giving you direct visibility into how technical decisions affect pipeline speed and accuracy.
Most days you're grooming and prioritizing the backlog across the MLE and MAU teams, writing acceptance criteria, and making trade-off calls on what ships next, increasingly using AI to draft requirements and surface edge cases before they hit engineering. You'll track KPIs like speed-to-lead, misrouting, and sync reliability, using AI-assisted analysis to spot patterns in data-quality or routing failures before they show up in stakeholder reports. You'll also govern Salesforce-Marketo field mappings and MSI usage, resolving schema drift and sync errors as they surface, and drive Workfront-to-Marketo automation patterns that cut campaign build time. Day to day, you're documenting roadmaps, project health, and playbooks, using AI to keep that documentation current as the systems evolve.
AI is embedded in our workflows, decision‑making, and products. Success here requires embracing AI as an essential capability.
