Job summary

Jackson James partners with a leading Microsoft Partner to appoint a Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant. You will own manufacturing-focused ERP solutions across the full project lifecycle, from discovery to go-live and optimisation, tailoring BC to manufacturing, inventory, and supply chain needs.

You will engage with clients to document requirements, configure modules, run workshops, and deliver training while supporting data migration, testing, and post-implementation

Qualifications

• Experience implementing or supporting Dynamics 365 BC and/or NAV.
• Strong manufacturing functional expertise and ERP integration knowledge.
• Ability to gather requirements and translate them into ERP solutions.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are partnered with a leading Microsoft Partner who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant to join their expanding consulting team.

This opportunity would suit a Business Central professional with strong functional and operational experience, particularly within manufacturing and supply chain environments, who enjoys working directly with clients to understand their challenges, design effective ERP solutions, and deliver successful implementations.

You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through solution design, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and ongoing optimisation. You will work across a variety of client projects, with a particular focus on Business Central Manufacturing functionality and the integration of manufacturing processes with wider operational and financial workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with clients to understand, document, and improve their manufacturing and operational processes.
• Lead and support Dynamics 365 Business Central manufacturing implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and post-go-live optimisation.
• Analyse manufacturing requirements across production planning, production orders, bills of materials, routings, capacity, demand planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and shop-floor operations.
• Facilitate discovery and requirements workshops, translating business processes and challenges into practical, scalable Business Central solutions.
• Configure and optimise Business Central across Manufacturing, Inventory, Warehouse Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain, and Sales/Order Management.
• Advise clients on Business Central best practice and how manufacturing functionality can be aligned with their wider operational processes.
• Work alongside developers and technical consultants to ensure functional requirements are accurately translated into high-quality solutions.
• Investigate and resolve complex functional issues, providing clear recommendations and guidance to clients.
• Support data migration, master data preparation, system configuration, data validation, testing, and user acceptance testing.
• Develop functional specifications, process maps, SOPs, user documentation, training materials, and other project deliverables.
• Deliver engaging end-user training across manufacturing and related Business Central functionality.
• Support solution design, test planning, go-live preparation, deployment, and post-implementation support.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and help clients maximise the value they gain from Business Central.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, developers, solution architects, and other functional consultants to ensure projects are delivered successfully.
• Travel to client sites, typically up to 25%, for workshops, training, testing, and go-live activities.

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience implementing, configuring, or supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV.
• Demonstrable functional expertise in Business Central Manufacturing is highly desirable, ideally including:

• Experience analysing and improving end-to-end manufacturing and operational workflows.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, challenge existing processes, and translate business needs into effective ERP solutions.
• Strong knowledge of ERP data structures, master data, and the dependencies between functional areas.
• Experience with data migration, system testing, UAT, training, and user adoption.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to diagnose complex functional issues.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence working directly with customers from operational users through to senior management.
• Strong documentation and presentation skills.
• Advanced Excel capability and confidence working with business and ERP data.
• Experience working for a Microsoft Partner, ERP consultancy, systems integrator, or professional services organisation would be advantageous.
• A practical, customer-focused approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
