The Role

The Sr. Battery Engineer is a customer-facing battery expert, deeply ingrained in the battery industry. They use their expertise to work cross-functionally across Voltaiq, deciphering and articulating customer requirements to customize the Voltaiq product and ensure a positive customer experience. The role involves resolving complex technical challenges, serving as a strategic SME, and collaborating with various teams including business development, sales, product, and engineering. The Sr. Battery Engineer provides training, onboarding, and technical support to customers’ battery teams, attends calls and on-site meetings, and stays updated on industry trends to ensure Voltaiq's offerings remain competitive. They also contribute to conference content, thought leadership, and own technical projects aligned with company goals.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert, offering insights and recommendations to customers' battery engineering teams using the Voltaiq platform.
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customer engineering teams.
• Meet with customers regularly to understand objectives and workflows, and help implement these workflows in Voltaiq.
• Deliver product demonstrations in person and via web conference.
• Onboard and train customers on the platform.
• Identify and suggest product improvements to increase value.
• Create demonstration materials and customize demos for clients.
• Assist in sales processes and strategize implementation.
• Identify opportunities to expand customer usage of Voltaiq.
• Travel up to 40% as needed.

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM with battery research or STEM B.S. with 3+ years experience.
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Industry knowledge in battery testing/engineering.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple requests.
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment.
• Python coding experience and interest in software collaboration.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Additional Capabilities

• Fluency in languages such as German, French, Mandarin, Korean, or Japanese is a plus.
