Job summary

Prairie Consulting Services in Chicago—a Hybrid role with 3 days onsite—is seeking a hands-on Azure Developer to produce and productionize an Azure-based platform.

This role focuses on coding, API development, cloud-native architectures, and strong Terraform experience, not a traditional DevOps position. You will build backend integrations, enhance APIs, and strengthen security in a regulated environment; banking experience is a plus.

This position is in Chicago and it is a Hybrid role with 3 days onsite in the office. Looking for local candidates to the Chicago land area

$75.00 - $80.00 W-2

We’re looking for a hands-on Azure Developer to help complete and productionize an Azure-based application platform.

This is NOT a traditional DevOps or Infrastructure role. We need someone who loves to code, build APIs, create integrations, and develop cloud-native applications.

What we need:

• Strong backend development with Python and Node.js
• Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage Accounts, and Key Vault
• API development, integrations, and performance optimization
• Authentication and API security
• Hands-on Terraform experience is a MUST
• Serverless and cloud-native application architecture

You’ll be helping take an existing platform across the finish line and into production by building backend integrations, enhancing APIs, optimizing performance, and strengthening application security.

Ideal candidate:

A strong Azure Backend / Cloud Application Developer with solid DevOps knowledge — but make no mistake, this is a hands-on development role, not a DevOps-only position.

Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or other regulated environments is a plus.
