Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer (Azure) to architect and implement cloud patterns for healthcare-focused environments. This hybrid role can be based in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX, with a three-day onsite cadence under a W2 contract-to-hire arrangement.

You will craft prototypes, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable IaC patterns, while mentoring engineers and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery, monitoring, and secure access across systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
• CI/CD experience (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
• IaC experience (Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, CloudFormation).
• Strong Docker, Kubernetes, networking, IAM, and secrets management skills.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Real-world experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Turn architectural direction into working prototypes and reusable patterns.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across app, infra, and data workloads.
• Automate infrastructure with IaC (Terraform, Bicep, Pulumi, or similar).

We're hiring a Senior Cloud Solutions Engineer for a national healthcare performance-improvement organization that manages billions in supply chain and pharmaceutical spend for hospitals across the U.S.

This is a hands-on role that bridges architecture and implementation — you'll build prototypes, reference implementations, and reusable cloud patterns that other engineering teams adopt, using modern AI-assisted development tools to move fast.

What you'll do:
