Overview

Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Avionics Engineer to provide technical support at Robins AFB. This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities
  1. Support Aircraft Information Management Systems (AIMS) requirements/testing/certification and spectrum management requirements/testing/certification.
  2. Use Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements, policies, and regulations to define requirements, complete CNS/ATM compliance matrices, and support testing and certification of aircraft and supporting systems.
  3. Assist in reviewing, developing, and updating applicable program documentation for avionics engineering relevant requirements.
  4. Support and assist systems analyses including avionics system design, design feasibility, and state-of-the-art assessment.
  5. Assist the Government in developing system/subsystem specifications and providing draft documentation defining these specifications.
  6. Perform analyses of avionics and subsystems, including threat analysis, laser systems, computer systems, avionics interfaces, and multiplex bus communications, identifying potential issues or areas for improvement.
  7. Attend technical reviews and provide advice on hardware and software installation paths.
  8. Support performance, cost, life-cycle, maintainability, supportability, reliability, risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies.
  9. Review system test plans and participate in testing of systems, subsystems, and components.
  10. Review and assess program-specific databases and analyze Built-in Test (BIT) failure reports.
  11. Review technical documents for compliance with specifications and airworthiness, summarize findings, and communicate results.
  12. Support technical meetings regarding updates/upgrades in controls, displays, data buses, and recording equipment.
  13. Assist in developing requirements for future upgrades of associated equipment.
  14. Review associated equipment airworthiness reports in accordance with USAF Airworthiness requirements.
Qualifications
  1. 15+ years of experience in avionics engineering, including at least 5 years in a DoD environment.
  2. Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  3. Expertise in avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, verification, sustainment, modeling, testing, and certification.
  4. Knowledge of CNS/ATM requirements, controls and displays, data bus, and data recording systems.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and web applications.
  6. Must be a US citizen with a current Secret clearance.
  7. Applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility for classified access.
