HX5 is currently seeking an Avionics Engineer to join our team at Robins Air Force Base in support of the C-5 Program Office within the Mobility directorate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform avionics engineering in support of avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, all verification methods to include review of ICDs, sustainment, modeling/simulation, test and evaluation, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems.
  • Support and assist systems analyses to include, but not be limited to, avionics system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessment.
  • Attend all technical reviews and provide technical advice on the path forward to the installation of the new hardware and software into the system.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in the area of controls and displays, data bus, and data recording development, test, sustainment and operations covering airborne vehicles’ controls and displays subsystems (including but not limited to cockpit displays and aerial refueling operator station displays) to include performance, integrity, and FAA and DoD airworthiness/certification.

Education and Experience
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program and fifteen (15) years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited program and twelve (12) years of relevant experience.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week and offers a flexible work schedule Monday through Friday during core business hours.

Other Position Requirements:

  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to travel, including air travel.
