Snapshot of the Role

The Sr. Automation Technician plays a hands-on role in continuously improving existing systems and bringing new manufacturing equipment and processes to life. This role focuses on tackling equipment performance issues head-on, using technical expertise to uncover root causes rather than quick fixes. The ideal Sr. Automation Technician is self-motivated, thrives on troubleshooting challenges, and can confidently juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

This position can either be 1st shift or 2nd shift.

What You’ll be Doing:
  • Support Daily Production Operations: Prioritize multiple projects and equipment/line needs to support optimal production quality and volume levels. Collect and record accurate test and process data for use in problem analysis and product verification.
  • Minimize Machine Downtime and Maximize Parts per Hour on the Line: Utilize strong automation background and problem-solving skills to design, modify, and debug existing and new equipment. Determine root cause of equipment problems and improve process performance. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, automation, software, and hydraulic systems.
  • Develop and Document Engineering Procedures and Continuous Improvement Techniques: Partner with quality and engineering from program start-up through completion to analyze machine performance and implement continuous improvement techniques to maximize parts per hour on the line.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing Methods: Analyze production techniques and machine performance. Prioritize machine software and component improvements, identification of weak processes (manual or equipment), and use troubleshooting ability to test and implement improved manufacturing techniques.
What You’ll Need:
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent military or formal training in Industrial Automation Technology, Electrical/Mechanical, or Electronics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machine troubleshooting, process control, and CAD.
  • Ability to use electronic hand tools proficiently.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • 100% tuition reimbursement and support for continued learning
