Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. seeks an experienced professional to assist the director and managers of Business Applications in improving the efficiency of the applications portfolio by designing and implementing programming-based solutions.

The role leads development of processes, configurations, and protocols for system upgrades, reviews solutions for IT standards, mentors Automated Systems Engineers, and writes advanced SQL, LUA, and Python to optimize interoperability between business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, life science, business management, or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in design, programming and/or scripting languages, database design, and communication techniques
• Expertise and proven experience in the development of various software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of processes, specifications, configurations, validation, implementation plans and protocols for system upgrades and modifications, maintain related documentation.
• Perform technical reviews of solutions proposed by peers and vendors, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT standards.
• Mentor Automated Systems Engineers and coach junior staff.
• Understand data models, application design, and software integration.
• Write complex SQL queries to aid in analysis, development, and support activities.
• Develop software solutions using SQL, LUA, Python, APIs, or middleware to optimize interoperability between business applications.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support and troubleshooting for business applications.
• Work cross-functionally with multiple departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues to maximize operations availability.
• Adhere to Quality, Regulatory, or SOP standards and documentation requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as required.
• Internal training programs on automation best practices, regulatory compliance, and system design.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Leads the development of processes, specifications, configurations, validation, qualification, implementation plans and protocols for the implementation and maintenance of system upgrades and modifications, as well as maintain related documentation.
• Responsible for technical reviews of solutions proposed by peers and vendors, ensuring alignment with enterprise IT standards.
• Mentors and coaches Automated Systems Engineers
• Responsible for understanding data models, application design, and software integration.
• Writes complex SQL queries to aid in analysis, development, and support activities.
• Independently develop software solutions using SQL, LUA, Python, APIs, or middleware to optimize interoperability between business applications.
• Provides Tier 2/3 support and troubleshooting for business applications.
• Works cross-functionally with multiple departments to troubleshoot and resolve business application and system issues to ensure maximum availability for operations.
• Adheres to all applicable Quality, Regulatory, or other standards requirements and follows appropriate SOPs, protocols, and documentation requirements.
• Participate in on-call rotation and assist with after-hours issues, troubleshooting, or implementations, as required.
• Responsible for internal training programs on automation best practices, regulatory compliance, and system design.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, life science, business management, or related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in design, programming and/or scripting languages, database design, and communication techniques
• Expertise and proven experience in the development of various software solutions.

Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

• Certification in SQL querying or equivalent.
• Certification(s) in coding / scripting language or equivalent.
• Certification in Mobile application design and development experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated understanding of IT system lifecycles and change management.
• Fluency with software validation as it relates to Blood Establishment Computer Systems (BECS) and 21 CFR Part 11 preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously with very limited supervision.
• Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with demonstrated interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with all levels of management.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Ability to travel up to 30% via airplane or vehicle (if applicable)

Please note: This position is an in-office role and requires on-site attendance five days per week. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position.
