Job summary

Advance Auto Parts is seeking a data analytics professional to analyze, mine, and apply statistical methods on our product assortment in Raleigh, NC. You will develop clear reports and presentations using data visualization to support key stakeholders and decisions.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of business analytics experience, strong SQL and Excel skills, and experience with Python/VBA. You will work cross-functionally, measure assortment performance, and stay current with big data trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in math, CS, engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience or related field.
• Strong SQL and Excel skills (intermediate to advanced).
• Experience with data visualization and reporting.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear insights.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, mine, and apply statistical methods to identify patterns in product assortment.
• Develop reports and presentations using data visualization to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Job DescriptionEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze, mine, and use statistical methods to identify patterns from various data points regarding our current product assortmentDevelop reports and/or presentations leveraging data visualization tools that clearly and concisely communicate analytical findings and assortment recommendations to key stakeholdersAble to communicate and work cross-functionally with team members to identify existing business issuesMeasure and optimize the effectiveness of current product assortment, deploying both established and groundbreaking techniquesDevelop strong partnerships with business management teams and participate in weekly category meetingsMaintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the field of big data and data analyticsSupport ad hoc analytic needs as requestedQualificationsIn-depth exposure to SQL. Ability to write and produce SQL queries for difficult business problems.Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyConfidence in analytical abilities, able to present and champion optimal assortment decisionsComfortable working with big data to find insights and reach conclusionsBasic object oriented programming concepts.
