Job summary

Pfizer is seeking a highly motivated Sr Associate Scientist in Protein & Bioanalytical Sciences to support production, analysis, and digital integration efforts. The role includes DNA sequence design, recombinant protein expression and purification, and analytical characterization, with focus on improving lab data infrastructure via auditing and testing.

The candidate will work onsite in Bothell, WA, collaborating across teams and maintaining meticulous documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience (beyond coursework).
  • Experience with basic Python scripting and strong Excel skills.
  • Experience in laboratory data management and/or digital application transitions.
  • Experience with annotating antibody sequences and understanding antibody structure/domains.
  • Experience with recombinant protein production from DNA design to QC.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and audit requests, registrations, analytic data, and inventory applications.
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing for registrations and requests.
  • Fulfill reagent requests based on experience.
  • Design DNA sequences, construct vectors, perform sequencing and QC.
  • Produce recombinant proteins (antibodies, bispecifics, fusions, small format binders) via mammalian expression and purification.
  • Perform analytical characterization of purified products.
  • Evaluate and build data efficiencies for registrations and lab data processes.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively.

Sr Associate Scientist - Protein & Bioanalytical Sciences
Summary:

Pfizer is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr Associate Scientist - Protein & Bioanalytical Sciences to support production, analysis, and digital integration efforts. This role involves DNA sequence design, recombinant protein expression and purification, and analytical characterization. The candidate will also support lab data infrastructure through auditing, user testing, and process optimization. Strong technical expertise, data management skills, and cross-functional collaboration are key to success in this position.

Responsibilities:
  • Regular maintenance and auditing of requests, registration, analytic data, and inventory applications
  • Frequent and timely User Accepting Testing for registration and request applications
  • Laboratory fulfillment of reagent requests based on experience
  • DNA sequence design, vector construction, sequencing, and QC
  • Production of recombinant proteins (antibodies, bispecifics, fusions, and small format binders) via mammalian expression and affinity purification
  • Analytical characterization of purified products
  • Evaluating and building new data efficiencies towards registration and laboratory data processes
  • Regular collaboration with team members and strong communication skills
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, chemistry, or related field with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR equivalent degree.
  • Hands-on laboratory experience (excluding college coursework)
  • Experience with basic Python scripting and strong Excel skills
  • Experience in laboratory data management and/or digital application transitions
  • Experience with annotating antibody sequences and familiarity with antibody structure/domains

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with product quality analysis for antibodies and recombinant proteins
  • Antibody-drug conjugate and small compound handling experience
  • Experience with automated lab equipment and protocols
  • Prior experience working with electronic lab notebooks and/or LIMS systems
  • Willingness to work with potent cytotoxic compounds and follow safety protocols
Location/Schedule:
  • This is a fully onsite role in Bothell, WA
  • Monday - Friday; 40 hours per week
