MARTA seeks a qualified attorney to provide general legal representation for the Authority and its employees in mediation, arbitration and litigation, defending claims including motor vehicle, train-related, slip-and-fall, civil rights matters and employment law. Requires graduate law degree (J.D.
or LL.B.), Georgia Bar membership, and at least four years of legal experience, including two years of litigation. This is a full-time position in Atlanta.
Graduate degree from an accredited law school, LL.B., or J.D. Degree and a minimum of four (4) years of legal experience required. Membership of Georgia Bar Association. Minimum of 2 years litigation experience required.

Responsible for providing general legal representation of the Authority and its employees in mediation, arbitration and litigation in defense of claims (e.g. motor vehicle and train-related claims, slip and fall, trip and fall, and police-related claims including false arrest, excessive force, workers’ compensation, employment law litigation and other civil rights matters); assisting in the negotiation and settlement of claims prior to litigation; pursuing cost recovery of claims by the Authority against third parties; and rendering legal advice as required.
Assigns and reviews work of paralegals, interns and/or externs.
Member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia.
