Job summary

Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Application Engineer with in-depth knowledge of X86 server and networking solutions, especially switch products.

You will provide technical support to enterprise customers and promote internal switch products to optimize networking solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in networking switches and excellent communication with all levels of management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 8+ years of working experience in a hardware validation environment.
• Strong knowledge of computer architecture.
• Familiar with Linux, Windows, and networking.
• Strong sense of teamwork; a good team player with strong communication skills in both speaking and writing.
• Knowledge and experience of server performance benchmarks and tuning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform motherboard, system, and other server component validation testing.
• Conduct functionality testing, compatibility testing, performance testing, stress and reliability testing.
• Report hardware and software quality issues into bug tracking systems.
• Document and analyze test data.
• Maintain and improve validation test plans and test instructions.
• Contribute to the development of test utilities and test script automation.
• Support internal and external quality issues and drive issue resolution.

The ideal candidate must have a strong technical background in networking switch products as well as exceptional communication skill -- ability to interface with all levels of management staff in a professional manner.

Salary Range

$110,000 - $145,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
