Role Summary

A successful candidate will have expertise in data visualization best practices, translating high-level requirements into intuitive dashboards, passion for storytelling with data, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of business intelligence tools and technologies.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Vehicle Line to define key metrics, analyze data, build robust data models, and develop data-driven solutions.
2. Convert ambiguous business requests into technical requirements.
3. Contribute to our code-based data transformations (with SQL, dbt, Databricks) to provide user-facing analytics tables.
4. Drive data democratization by building and automating “single source of truth” centralized dashboards, analytical models, SQL scripts, and data models for functional to executive level stakeholders.
5. Foster a culture of excellence within the analytics community by promoting best practices in data pipelines, dashboards, code review, and core data concepts.
6. Drive projects from inception to delivery ensuring that your data solutions deliver reliable data and actionable insights to intelligently grow Rivian’s business.
7. Be the SME on data and visualization best practices for business stakeholders and deliver trainings for business analysts to bridge the gap between data and business understanding.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, analytics, or equivalent practical experience; Master's degree preferred.
2. 4+ years of analytics-focused experience.
3. Advanced proficiency in SQL; experience with DBT is preferred.
4. Experience with one or more programming languages (Python, R, etc.) to deliver or manage data pipelines.
5. Strong proficiency developing data visualizations using more than one of Hex, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, Looker, Power BI.
6. Strong understanding of Atlassian products such as Jira & Confluence.
7. Experience collaborating across multiple teams.
8. Extremely detail-oriented.
9. Strong communicator, adapts presenting technical solutions to senior stakeholders and building relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $121,500.00 - $151,900.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
