Job summary

Helmerich & Payne seeks a Senior Analyst in Total Rewards to design, analyze, implement, and optimize comprehensive total rewards programs. The role emphasizes data-driven insights, regulatory compliance, and performance improvements, with a focus on retirement and health benefits.

Based in Tulsa, OK, this on-site position collaborates across HR and Finance to support governance and communications. The successful candidate will have 4–7 years in total rewards, deep benefit governance knowledge,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in HR or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of total rewards experience.
  • Deep knowledge of ERISA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125 and related regulations.
  • Excellent data analysis and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze total rewards programs to evaluate competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and models for leadership and employee communications.
  • Support governance for 401(k), pension, and health and welfare plans with internal stakeholders.
  • Assist with fiduciary responsibilities, including plan reviews and audit-ready materials.
  • Coordinate with vendors across benefits carriers, recordkeepers, and consultants.
  • Collaborate with external vendors on plan design and performance management.
  • Oversee compliance activities for benefits, retirement, and leave programs including Form 5500 preparation.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for retirement, medical, dental, vision, life, and wellness programs.
  • Support annual total rewards cycles including merit reviews and open enrollment.
  • Analyze market data to adjust pay structures and benefit design.
  • Support pay equity reviews, audits, and regulatory reporting.
  • Work with HR and Finance to support organizational initiatives and communications.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to HRIS data and employee communications search.

The Senior Analyst, Total Rewards supports the design, analysis, implementation, and optimization of comprehensive total rewards programs. This hands‑on role leverages strong analytical skills and benefits and compensation expertise to deliver data‑driven insights, support regulatory compliance, and improve program effectiveness.

What you will do:
  • Analyze total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, retirement, and leave programs, to evaluate competitiveness, cost effectiveness, utilization trends, and employee impact.

  • Prepare actionable reports, dashboards, analytical models, and supporting documentation for leadership and employee communications.

  • Support strategy and governance for the company’s 401(k), pension, and health and welfare plans, including coordination with recordkeepers, advisors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Support retirement and health and welfare plan fiduciary responsibilities, including investment and plan reviews, audit‑ready documentation, and committee meeting materials.

  • Manage vendor coordination across total rewards programs, including benefits carriers, leave administrators, retirement recordkeepers, brokers, and consultants; oversee performance, contracts, SLAs, and issue resolution.

  • Partner with external vendors and consultants on plan design, RFPs and ongoing performance management.

  • Oversee compliance activities for benefits, retirement, and leave programs, including Form 5500 preparation, audits, disclosures, and ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for employee benefits, including retirement, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, wellness, and leave programs.

  • Support annual total rewards cycles, including merit reviews, incentive planning, open enrollment, post‑cycle analysis, and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Analyze market data to assess competitiveness and recommend adjustments to pay structures and benefit design.

  • Support pay equity reviews, structure modeling efforts, audits, regulatory reporting, and documentation requirements.

  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with HR Business Partners, HR Shared Services, Finance, Payroll, Legal, and Communications to support organizational initiatives, open enrollment, merit and incentive compensation cycles, and benefits education.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to streamline administration, enhance HRIS data accuracy, and strengthen employee communications and tools.

  • Maintain confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive employee and financial data.

What you will need:
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, related field or equivalent experience.

  • 4–7 years of progressive experience in total rewards.

  • Deep working knowledge of benefit plans, fiduciary governance, ERISA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, and related regulations.

  • Advanced Excel proficiency, practical understanding of AI tools, and experience with HRIS platforms; Workday preferred.

  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear insights and recommendations for diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with job evaluation and analysis, compensation survey interpretation, and market pricing.

  • Professional certifications, such as SHRM, CEBS, WorldatWork CCP/CBP, or retirement plan credentials.

  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, technology‑enabled solutions, and cross‑functional collaboration.
