Job summary

Lennox International is seeking a Senior Tax Operations professional to support federal and state tax compliance, ASC 740 provisions, and 1099 reporting. The role emphasizes accuracy, process improvements, and collaboration across tax functions.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of tax experience, a degree in accounting, and CPA credentials with proficiency in Excel and major tax software like Hyperion, SAP, and Corptax. This is a salaried exempt position with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years tax experience, preferably two+ years in public accounting or large corporate tax department.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Masters in Tax preferred.
  • CPA or CPA candidate.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel.
  • Experience with accounting and tax software systems (Hyperion, SAP and Corptax) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and/or review federal income tax returns, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and/or review state income and franchise tax returns.
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly estimated tax calculations and annual extension filings.
  • Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of annual 1099 reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen controls.

What Drives Success

This Senior Tax Operations role will support the corporate tax department primarily in the following areas: federal and state tax compliance processes, including preparation and review of tax returns, quarterly estimates and annual extensions; quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision processes; 1099 reporting processes.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Performance Elements:

  • Federal Tax Compliance
    • Prepare and/or review federal income tax returns, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with federal tax laws and filing requirements.
  • State and Local Tax Compliance
    • Prepare and/or review state income and franchise tax returns.
    • Monitor state filing requirements and coordinate compliance activities across jurisdictions.
  • Estimated Taxes and Extensions
    • Prepare and/or review quarterly estimated tax calculations and annual extension filings.
    • Ensure timely submission of payments and filings.
  • ASC 740 Tax Provision
    • Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
    • Prepare and analyze current and deferred tax calculations, tax account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
    • Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
  • 1099 Reporting
    • Oversee the preparation and review of annual 1099 reporting processes.
    • Ensure compliance with IRS reporting requirements and filing deadlines.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain accurate vendor information.
  • Process Improvement and Automation
    • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, enhance efficiency, and strengthen controls.
    • Support the implementation of technology and automation solutions within the tax function.

What We Are Looking For

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $83,000 - $109,220 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.

Benefits: Subject to applicable eligibility requirements, the following benefits are offered for this role: tuition reimbursement; medical, dental, and vision insurance; prescription drug coverage; 401(k) retirement plan; short-term disability insurance; 8 weeks paid birthing leave; 2 weeks paid bonding leave; life and long-term disability insurance.
