Job description

The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the continuity of supply of raw and packaging materials to production facilities. Develops and manages replenishment strategies for assigned materials. Optimizes the balance between supply availability, inventory investment, and risk of obsolescence. Works cross-functionally with Marketing, Procurement, R&D, Suppliers, Quality, Plants, Product Change Managers, and Finance on commercialization and productivity change management initiatives to ensure on-time materials availability and cost-effective transitions.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute replenishment strategies for assigned materials, balancing supply and inventory investment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely materials availability and cost management.
  • Support inventory reduction initiatives, including SAP MRP optimization and lean principles application.
  • Minimize costs related to excess inventory through transfers, returns, or salvage sales.
  • Manage daily supply disruptions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions promptly.
  • Provide input to Procurement regarding volumes, supplier performance, and contractual needs.
  • Assess supplier capacity constraints and develop contingency plans to maintain supply.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Results-driven with strong influencing abilities.
  • Understanding of total supply chain perspective.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

Base salary range: $88,000 - $110,000. This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus. Compensation varies based on geographic region, experience, and other factors.
