Job summary

Cardinal Health in Dublin, OH seeks a Risk Management professional to analyze exposure data, manage insurance programs, and support risk transfer activities.

The role partners with Treasury and Accounting to forecast cash flow, complete audits, and drive process improvements while maintaining accurate RMIS records and timely reporting. A Bachelor’s degree and related risk experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
  • 1–3+ years in Risk Management, underwriting, brokerage, or related experience, with a preference for medical office insurance.
  • ARM, CPCU or other related risk/insurance designations preferred.
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Collects, analyzes risk exposure data for property and casualty policies, including management of multiple programs.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for the RMIS.
  • Creates loss experience reports using RMIS on a schedule and ad hoc.
  • Processes invoices, manages vendor profiles, and updates cash flow forecasts.
  • Supports captive insurance administration including premium allocations and claims reimbursements.
  • Implements process improvements and documents procedures.
  • Completes risk management projects including audits and integration of acquired companies.
  • Provides back-up support when team members are out of the office.

Ideal candidate will be based in Ohio with the ability to come into the Dublin, OH office monthly and quarterly.

What Risk Management Contributes To Cardinal Health

Finance oversees the accounting, tax, financial plans and policies of the organization, establishes and maintains fiscal controls, prepares and interprets financial reports, oversees financial systems and safeguards the organization's assets.

Risk Management identifies property, casualty and executive risks, recommends risk transfer solutions and administers risk transfer programs. This family mitigates retained risk via loss prevention and loss control programs. This family also analyzes strategic, operational, economic, regulatory and compliance risks and facilitates mitigation strategies (e.g., business continuity) to address those risks.

Responsibilities
  • Collects, prepares and analyzes risk exposure data for various property and casualty insurance policies, including day-to-day management of the property and medical malpractice programs with multiple broker contacts and internal contacts
  • Becomes a subject matter expert as respects to the Risk Management Information System
  • Creates loss experience reports using the Risk Management Information System on a scheduled and ad hoc basis
  • Processes invoices, manages vendor payment profiles, and updates cash flow and accrual forecasts for Treasury and Accounting on a monthly basis
  • Supports captive insurance administration, including premium allocations and claim reimbursements
  • Recommends and implements process improvements and improves written procedure documentation
  • Completes assignments for risk management projects, including quarterly and annual internal and external audits, integration of acquired companies, insurance premium audits, and special projects
  • Provides back‑up support when other Global Risk Management team members are out of the office
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • 1-3+ years of Risk Management, underwriting, brokerage, or related experience, with a preference of medical office insurance experience, preferred
  • ARM, CPCU, or other related risk/insurance designations, preferred
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills; attention to detail while balancing multiple deadlines
  • Self‑motivated with a sense of urgency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Expert or Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with occasional in‑office meetings
  • Risk Management Information System experience, preferred

$68,500-$88,020
