As a member of the strategic planning team, you’ll be responsible for evaluating the market and helping identify the best path forward for Johnsonville’s continued growth. From new products, to channels, geographies and more, this team is responsible for evaluating global growth potential organization-wide.
The Senior Demand Planning Analyst will combine strong analytical skills with business partnership capabilities. They are comfortable leading monthly consensus meetings, translating commercial insights into operational forecasts, and influencing stakeholders across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain. The planner possesses expertise in advanced planning systems, leveraging data to improve forecast performance, and proactively managing promo change impacts in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
The position will combine statistical/machine learning forecasting, market intelligence, customer insights, promotional planning, and business analytics to proactively identify risks and opportunities while driving continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and demand planning processes.
Develop rolling demand forecasts across the planning horizon at item, customer, and location levels
Utilize statistical forecasting models while incorporating commercial intelligence
Analyze historical sales, shipment, consumption, seasonality, trends, demand-drivers and market changes
Incorporate promotional activity, innovation launches, customer wins/losses, and lifecycle management into forecasts
Use and maintain o9 Connected Planning solution’s driver-based forecasting tool
Adhere to IBP methodology through the cross-functional collaboration of sales, marketing, commercial planning, finance, and supply chain
Monitor forecast accuracy, forecast bias along with other relevant KPIs to provide regular analysis to stakeholders. Identify root causes of forecast errors and implement corrective actions
Drive continuous improvement in the accuracy and reliability of the statistical models, constantly refining methodologies to optimize business outcomes.
Lead initiatives to enhance demand planning processes, incorporating best practices and automation where possible
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Statistics, Economics, Business or a related field.
6+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning required
Hands-on experience with advanced planning and optimization within a Connected Planning Solution, required
Experience with o9 is highly preferred
IBF, APICS or other forecast/supply chain certification preferred
Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience preferred
Strong understanding of how statistical models and analytics support connected planning solutions
Ability to foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement
Proficiency in scenario modeling
Strong presentation skills for leading monthly consensus meetings
Continuous learning mindset and ability to apply latest statistical methods and industry trends
