SUMMARY:The Senior Analyst, Commercial Finance will support the delivery of financial insights and strategic analysis across Baylor Genetics' commercial functions. This role will focus on revenue forecasting, pricing and profitability analysis, and payer reimbursement modeling. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills and a collaborative mindset.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, ideally in diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare.
- Exceptional analytical skills to process large amounts of financial and statistical information
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP and BI tools (e.g., NetSuite, Tableau, Workday Adaptive, Power BI).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint updating and creating presentations that explain financial results.
- Ability to take initiative, engage staff, and create change.
- Excellent in time management - proven ability to work on and manage multiple projects within tight timelines and in a fast-paced growth environment.
- Must be self-motivated with strong work ethic, desire to learn, attention to detail, and have a dedication to quality.
- Must possess excellent written, presentation, and oral business communication skills.
- Adaptable to change in a rapidly growing company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Revenue Forecasting & Planning
- Assist in developing and maintaining revenue forecasts by test type, payer channel (insurance/institutional), and sales region.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Lab, and Client Services to gather inputs for pipeline and growth assumptions.
- Support the annual budgeting and long-range strategic planning processes.
- Assist with preparation for and participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to align financial and operational forecasts.
- Pricing & Profitability Analysis
- Conduct margin analysis by customer, payer, and product line to support pricing strategy.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of pricing models and discount policy frameworks.
- Collaborate with Sales and RCM teams to evaluate contract terms and payer profitability.
- Payer Reimbursement & Revenue Analysis
- Analyze revenue realization and denial trends by payer to identify risks and opportunities.
- Support financial modeling of payer policy changes and reimbursement shifts in partnership with RCM.
- Provide data-driven insights to inform payer prioritization and contracting strategy.
- Strategic & Commercial Support
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate business cases for new commercial initiatives (e.g., test launches, RFPs, strategic partnerships).
- Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to support investment decisions.
- Assist in preparing materials for board-level and executive presentations.
- Reporting & Performance Monitoring
- Prepare monthly and quarterly performance reports, including variance analysis and KPI tracking.
- Support the Director in developing dashboards and tools to monitor commercial performance.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct as outlined in the Baylor Genetics Compliance Program.
