Job summary

The Brixton Group in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a hands-on Senior AI Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud security, IAM, and infrastructure. This is not a traditional IT administrator or DevOps role.

You will operate as a Platform/Cloud Engineer, building reusable capabilities, guardrails, automation, and self-service tooling that allow application teams to securely own their environments end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in platform, cloud, security, or infra engineering.
• 5+ years hands-on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• 3+ years cloud security, IAM, or security automation.
• 3+ years IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• 1+ year using AI/LLMs or AI-driven automation in professional engineering workflows.
• Experience building reusable platform tooling or self-service infra.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure, scalable cloud/platform infrastructure with identity, access, provisioning, and security controls.
• Build reusable security and IT capabilities that enable self-service rather than gatekeeping.
• Automate access, infrastructure, security, and operational workflows using AI and agentic solutions.
• Establish guardrails around IAM, least privilege, security, auditability, and infrastructure access.
• Partner across Cloud, Networking, Database, Engineering, and IT to build a highly automated platform.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior AI Platform Engineer with deep expertise in cloud security, IAM, and, infrastructure. This is not a traditional IT administration or DevOps role. You will operate as a Platform/Cloud Engineer, building reusable capabilities, guardrails, automation, and self-service tooling that allow application teams to securely own their environments end-to-end.

This is a greenfield opportunity to help rebuild and refactor an existing infrastructure environment for significant scale, with AI embedded into how engineering work gets done.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of Platform, Cloud, Security, or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on AWS, Azure, or GCP experience.
• 3+ years of cloud security, IAM, identity/access, or security automation experience.
• 3+ years of infrastructure automation/IaC experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• 1+ year using AI/LLMs, AI agents, or AI-driven automation in professional engineering workflows.
• Experience building reusable platform tooling, automation, or self-service infrastructure.

  Preferred Requirements

  • Experience personally building AI agents or agentic workflows.
  • Networking and database infrastructure knowledge.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, or other regulated environments.

  Ideal Profile

  You are strongest in Security/IT Infrastructure + Cloud, but can comfortably work across Network and Database domains. You believe Platform Engineering should enable teams rather than control them, and you actively use AI to make engineering dramatically faster and more autonomous.
