Job summary

Micron’s SMAI Platform Engineering team builds and runs platforms that support analytics and AI workloads. You will help deliver reliable, scalable, and secure platform capabilities, working with architects, project teams, and cross-functional partners to keep services operating effectively.

Boise, ID onsite role focusing on reliability, scalability, security controls, and operational readiness, with collaboration across global platform teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 2-4 years of Platform Administration and/or Cloud Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Kubernetes in production.
• Experience administering public cloud platforms and using Terraform for IaC.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning, Data Science, Generative AI concepts.

Responsibilities

• Partner with solution architects to design, implement, and optimize solutions across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Document findings, procedures, guidelines, and reusable patterns for vendors and internal teams.
• Provide high-quality platform support by handling customer requests and maintaining service standards.
• Monitor platform performance, costs, observability, and resource utilization for reliability.
• Coordinate with multi-functional teams to enable scalable operations and automation, including AI-driven workloads.
• Implement and maintain security controls, including RBAC and industry-standard frameworks.

In this individual contributor role, you will help deliver reliable, scalable, and secure platform capabilities, working closely with architects, project teams, and multi-functional partners to keep services operating effectively.

Location: Boise, ID (onsite)

Role focus

• Support and maintain platforms powering Micron’s analytics and AI workloads, with emphasis on reliability, scalability, security controls, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with global platform teams, customers, partners, and vendors to deliver technical solutions.
• Stay current on platform roadmaps, emerging technologies, and new service offerings, then evaluate and recommend adoption opportunities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, plus 2-4 years of Platform Administration and/or Cloud Engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Kubernetes, including administration, deployment, scaling, monitoring, and resolving production challenges.
• Experience administering public cloud platforms and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Familiarity with Machine Learning, Data Science, Generative AI, and Agentic AI concepts, including supporting AI/ML platform workloads.
• Strong collaboration, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with a continuous learning approach and the ability to independently deliver technical projects.
