Honeywell's Runway Overrun Awareness and Alerting System (ROAAS) is an advanced safety solution designed to enhance landing performance and operational safety for aircraft. It provides real-time alerts to flight crews about runway overruns, evaluating data from aircraft systems and environmental conditions to deliver timely warnings.

Join a team supporting long-term development programs and innovations in aerospace fields including UAM and UAS markets.

As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer within the CN&S Center of Excellence, you will develop advanced software solutions for avionics technologies, including EGPWS, Datalink Platforms, ROAAS, and Radar technologies.

Your role involves developing, implementing, and optimizing software for ROAAS, working on algorithms, data analytics, and real-time systems to enhance safety and reliability in aviation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement software solutions for CN&S products, especially ROAAS.
  • Collaborate with teams to define project requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality, robust software solutions.
  • Ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Translate system requirements into software requirements.
  • Understand software lifecycle and certification processes.
  • Create and maintain development and verification tools.
U.S. Person Requirements

Due to U.S. export laws, candidates must be U.S. persons (citizens, permanent residents, or protected status) or able to obtain export authorization.

Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree in sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Proficiency in C++, Python, or similar languages.

  • Experience with embedded software and real-time OS.
  • Experience in aerospace or safety-critical systems.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git/Bitbucket).
  • Knowledge of requirements management (DOORS).
  • Understanding of software lifecycle and certification.
  • Ability to manage projects independently.
  • Knowledge of algorithms, data analytics, RTCA, ARINC standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
