Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living in Parkville, MD, invites you to join as a Senior Program Assistant to enhance residents’ well-being across physical, intellectual, social, spiritual and emotional dimensions. You will collaborate with the Programming team to assess needs and provide tailored therapeutic and recreational activities.

This full-time role requires weekend/evening flexibility, with an 8:30am-5:00pm or 10:30am-7:00pm rotation and compensation between $17.50 and $20.60 per

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years working as an Activities/Recreation Assistant in a licensed health care community.
• Experience leading groups with varying levels of physical and cognitive independence preferred.
• Flexible work schedule including weekends and evenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents’ needs and provide therapeutic and recreational activities.
• Design, plan and facilitate structured and impromptu programs for individuals and groups.
• Ensure safety of residents on group trips and outings.
• Collaborate with team members, volunteers and families to enhance the resident experience.
• Monitor changes in residents’ needs and adapt programs accordingly.
• Maintain documentation including attendance, progress notes and care plans; contribute to MDS as needed.

Location: Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living

Join us as a Senior Program Assistant to enhance the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being of residents in Continuing Care (skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, and memory care). In this role, you will collaborate with the Programming team to assess needs and provide tailored therapeutic and recreational activities.

Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours/week, including a commitment of every‑other weekend. The shift will rotate regularly between 8:30am - 5:00pm and 10:30am - 7:00pm.

Compensation: commensurate based on experience between $17.50 - $20.60 hourly.

How you will make an impact

• Assess the resident’s needs/desires related to purposeful engagement and provide therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the daily needs and interests of the residents
• Design, planning and facilitating various structured and impromptu programs to individuals and groups in the common areas and resident rooms
• Ensure the safety of the residents on group trips and excursions
• Work with other team members, management, volunteers, and families to deliver programs and activities designed to enhance the resident experience
• Monitor changes in the resident’s needs, abilities and preferences to provide programs and activities appropriate for individual and group audiences
• Maintain proper documentation including daily attendance sheets, quarterly progress notes, assessment forms, service plans/care plans and contributes to the MDS as needed
• Participate in team discussions regarding resident programming, monthly calendars, activity and staff scheduling, and resident issues

What you will need

• Minimum of 3 years working as an Activities/Recreation Assistant in a licensed health care community or a minimum of 2 years as an ESL Programming Assistant is required
• Experience leading groups of people with varying levels of physical and cognitive independence is preferred
• Flexible work schedule including weekend and evenings as appropriate is required
