Job summary

Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living seeks a Senior Program Assistant to enhance residents' well-being across the continuum of care, including skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living and memory care. You will collaborate with the Programming team to tailor activities to resident needs and interests.

The role requires full-time hours (40/wk) with weekend shifts, and a rotation between morning and evening hours.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in Activities/Recreation within a licensed health care community, or 2 years as an ESL Programming Assistant.
  • Experience leading groups with varying physical and cognitive abilities is preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends/evenings as required.

  • Design and facilitate structured and impromptu programs for individuals and groups.

Job description

Location: Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living

Join us as a Senior Program Assistant to enhance the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and emotional well-being of residents in Continuing Care (skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, and memory care). In this role, you will collaborate with the Programming team to assess needs and provide tailored therapeutic and recreational activities.

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, including a commitment of every‑other weekend. The shift will rotate regularly between 8:30am - 5:00pm and 10:30am - 7:00pm.

Compensation: commensurate based on experience between $17.50 - $20.60 hourly.

How you will make an impact
  • Assess the resident’s needs/desires related to purposeful engagement and provide therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the daily needs and interests of the residents
  • Design, planning and facilitating various structured and impromptu programs to individuals and groups in the common areas and resident rooms
  • Ensure the safety of the residents on group trips and excursions
  • Work with other team members, management, volunteers, and families to deliver programs and activities designed to enhance the resident experience
  • Monitor changes in the resident’s needs, abilities and preferences to provide programs and activities appropriate for individual and group audiences
  • Maintain proper documentation including daily attendance sheets, quarterly progress notes, assessment forms, service plans/care plans and contributes to the MDS as needed
  • Participate in team discussions regarding resident programming, monthly calendars, activity and staff scheduling, and resident issues
What you will need

Minimum of 3 years working as an Activities/Recreation Assistant in a licensed health care community or a minimum of 2 years as an ESL Programming Assistant is required Experience leading groups of people with varying levels of physical and cognitive independence is preferred Flexible work schedule including weekend and evenings as appropriate is required Please note that specific state regulations and requirements may be applicable. These regulations take precedence over the requirements outlined in the job description.
