Position Overview

Responsible for establishing and maintaining Bancorp accounting policies and procedures, monitoring emerging accounting issues and standards, interpreting and overseeing the implementation of newly issued accounting standards, and communicating significant policy or procedural changes across the Bancorp. The role involves consulting with finance teams and representing Accounting Risk/External Reporting on various initiatives and projects.

Core Responsibilities

1. Develop and maintain Bancorp accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
2. Monitor emerging accounting issues and standards, assess implications, and develop comment letters as needed.
3. Interpret new standards, develop adoption strategies, and oversee implementation.
4. Quantify financial statement impacts and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
5. Collaborate with finance teams on technical accounting topics and transaction structures.
6. Serve as a technical accounting subject-matter expert for various initiatives and projects.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Provide performance feedback, develop employees, and ensure talent pool adequacy for succession planning.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• CPA or equivalent certification.
• 7-10 years of accounting experience, preferably in banking or related fields.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and advanced spreadsheet applications.
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
