Job summary

Airgas Inc. and Subsidiaries in Tulsa, OK seeks a Sr. Accounting Analyst focused on cost. You will support the Controller organization with financial reporting, month‑end close, journal entries, and cost accounting across COS and OPEX.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting and at least three years of financial reporting experience, including public accounting. Experience with SAP and strong analytical skills are preferred. A comprehensive benefits package is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Month‑end procedures, including the preparation and posting of journal entries.
  • General accounting and accruals.
  • Inventory/stock (mass balance).
  • Product costing process – calculate, maintain, and update standard gas and hard‑goods costs as required; prepare daily moving average price (MAP) analysis.
  • Account reconciliation and analysis for cost of sales, COS & OPEX accruals, significant sales accruals, and localized accounting topics such as real‑estate and personal property taxes.
  • Ad‑hoc entries arising from the month‑end close review process.
  • Participate in ongoing enhancements to accounting and reporting processes by leveraging systems and reporting tools.
  • Provide training and direction to accounting staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • Build effective relationships with all levels of associates within the organization.

Sr. Accounting Analyst – Cost Focus

Location: Tulsa, OK – W. 7th St. – Management – Central BSC

The Senior Accounting Analyst will support the business objectives based on the Controller organization’s scope of responsibility. The major areas of responsibility include: financial accounting and reporting, month‑end close processes, general ledger account analyses and reconciliation review, preparation and posting of journal entries, research, analysis and reporting, internal reporting requests for Division, Regional branches and Corporate, and fulfillment of internal/external audit and other ad hoc analyses and special projects.

Responsibilities
