Our WellMed Accounting Team with a focus on the North Texas market. This role will report to Director Accounting, be exposed to working with at least 5 other accountant team members from the WellMed organization.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, directs, guides and monitors the creation and maintenance of all ledgers, cash and bank registers, subsidiary accounting records, journals, log books, financial statements, health finance report, and various fiscal reports according to monthly close schedule.
  • Assists independent auditors with interim and year end financial audits. Assists with preparation of tax returns, tax audits, and other corporate reporting requirements.
  • Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems. Solves moderately complex problems and conducts moderately complex analyses.
  • Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues, translating concepts into practice.
  • Reviews accounting documents to ensure accuracy of information and calculations and makes or directs correcting entries.
  • Acts as a resource for others with less experience.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of increasing accounting responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of research techniques for analyzing data and presenting recommendations.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including pivots, vlookup, etc).
  • Microsoft Office software competency.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance; seeking guidance on only the most complex tasks.
  • Proven ability to perform mathematical computations, and compute ratios/percentages accurately and quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a healthcare or health plan environment.
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proven excellent communication skills.
  • Proven to be self-motivated, deadline driven.

Total Compensation: As part of your total compensation package, which includes base, bonus opportunity, PTO and holiday pay, you will also receive these benefits at these rates, not to mention a remote work opportunity and healthy work/life balance.

*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
