Job summary

The Senior Accountant at UHS is responsible for Net Revenue calculations for selected FEDs and prepares MFR variance explanations reported to Acute Regional Finance. The role handles TX-OK region reconciliations and corrective entries, acting as the primary resource to Accountants for daily and monthly Accounting/AR/AP, PFS, and Supply Chain processes.

Additional duties include managing region depository and balance sheet reconciliations, coordinating audits, and supporting annual budget prep.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficient in account analysis.
• Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with pivot and Smart View skills.
• Familiar with PCBS budgeting healthcare software.

• Compute Net Revenue for selected FEDs and prepare MFR variance explanations.
• Prepare TX-OK Region-specific reconciliations and adjustments as needed.
• Serve as primary resource to accountants for daily/monthly Accounting/AR/AP, PFS & Supply Chain processes.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests and assist with month-end schedules.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for Net Revenue calculations for selected FEDs and prepares related MFR variance explanations that are reported to Acute Regional Finance. Responsible for preparing TX-OK Region-specific reconciliations and correcting entries as necessary. Serves as primary resource to Accountants for daily and monthly Accounting/AR/AP/ PFS/ & Supply Chain processes. Responsible for Region Depository and selected Balance Sheet reconciliations as necessary. Coordinates Internal & External Audit requests. Serves as primary contact for CBO Patient Refunds expedited requests. Participates in Annual Budget preparation. Maintains employee sign-on bonus and escheat schedules. Assists with month-end review of schedules prepared by Accountants. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in Accounting, within a Healthcare setting is preferred
• Proficient in Account Analysis required
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Powerpoint & Excel, with emphasis on Pivots & Smart View functions.
• Familiar with PCBS and other budgeting healthcare software
• Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required.
