Penske Entertainment in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a Senior Accountant in Finance and Accounting to provide accurate financial information to business leaders across INDYCAR and IMS Productions. Responsibilities include monthly reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of financial results for race events, broadcasts and special projects.

• Provide monthly department spending reports and partner with leaders to review.
• Maintain expense reporting for broadcasts and special projects for accurate billing.
• Assist with budgeting and annual operating plan submissions.
• Communicate with internal partners to maintain continuous forecasting throughout the year.
• Deliver outstanding service to partners, guests, and colleagues.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you will help provide accurate financial information to business leaders across INDYCAR and IMS Productions. Your responsibilities will include monthly reporting, account reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing financial results. You will also work with department leaders to review spending, explain variances, and track expenses for race events, broadcasts and special projects.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create monthly financial statement reporting packages to be reviewed with executive leadership.
• Identify and prepare accounting entries, including expense accruals and adjustments to accurately report monthly results.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations for various accrual and asset accounts.
• Prepare and reconcile INDYCAR and INDY NXT event prize money and race team payouts.
• Review detailed financial results monthly and prepare variance analysis. Work with department leaders to review and document variances from the budget or forecast.
• Provide monthly department spending reports and partner with department leaders to review.
• Maintain detailed expense reporting for broadcasts and special projects to support management review and accurate billing to internal and external customers.
• Assist with the financial planning process, including the preparation and submission of annual operating budgets.
• Communicate with internal partners to maintain continuous forecasting based on changing assumptions throughout the fiscal year.
• Deliver outstanding service to partners, guests, and colleagues.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel including complex formulas and pivot tables
• Experience with financial and management reporting

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Leadership:

• This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

FLEXIBILITY & TRAVEL

• Standard hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Extended hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required during race weekends and key event periods, especially May.
• Our teams work together to create flexibility that supports life in and out of work.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Primarily desk-based work involving extended periods of computer use.
• Extended periods of standing or walking (as needed)
• Comfort working indoors/outdoors and around event noise.
