Job summary

Lourdes Industries, Inc. in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage monthly close, cost accounting, budgeting, and GAAP-compliant reporting. You will partner with operations to improve cost efficiency and support forecasting and cash flow management.

SUMMARY

**

Responsible for performing various accounting functions, including monthly close procedures, invoicing, billing, accounts payable management/processing, cash flow management, forecasting, cost accounting, and payroll. Prepare analyses as well as accounting reports according to GAAP. A key catalyst for operating and production capabilities through timely provision of support as well as partner with operational leadership. Position reports to the Controller

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

**

• Completes month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries, updating financial results, and preparing reporting packages with accuracy and expediency
• Assesses and analyzes the cost structure of the business, including production expenses, overhead, and inventory valuation.
• Develops and maintains budgets, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and aligned with organizational goals.
• Work closely with other accounting and finance professionals, as well as department heads, to support financial planning and operational improvements.
• Support the annual external financial statement audit process
• Provides technical advice and guidance according to Federal/State regulations and GAAP
• Prepare regular reports on cost efficiency and profitability, providing insights to management for informed decision-making, as well as provides job cost analysis as required
• Maintains job cost ledger and ensures accuracy of the data flow from payroll, PO receiving, and other direct costs
• Monitors inventory accuracy and conducts regular audits to ensure proper valuation and reporting of inventory costs.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

• Review, approve, and record invoices and accruals related to purchases
• Liaise with production to record and invoice shipments of orders as they occur
• Manage cash flow and capital expenditures to ensure appropriate liquidity
• Identify and record necessary journal entries that arise throughout the accounting period
• Support specific strategic priorities and projects across the business, including financial statement close process optimization, technological modernization, and operational redesign
• Effective management and timely performance of recurring activities
• Proficiency in managing cash flow position and effectively reporting to leadership
• Identification and implementation of value-add projects and processes
• Responsiveness to internal stakeholders and issues impacting the business

EDUCATION REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required for success in this role, as well as strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• 5-7 years of accounting experience with a focus on cost accounting preferred, ideally in aerospace, defense or other regulated industries
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial data and identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, particularly with skills related to summarizing and analyzing data

• Ability to sit and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
• This role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The work environment is collaborative, with regular interaction with accounting, finance, and operational teams.
