Job summary

TheCorporate in Colchester, CT is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the Accounting function and support continued business growth. The Controller will oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, costing, inventory, internal controls, audits, and financial analysis while partnering with Operations and Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities include leading the accounting department, overseeing GL/AP/AR/payroll, managing cash flow, and coordinating audits.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Manufacturing costing and inventory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Accounting Department.
  • Oversee General Ledger, AP, AR, Payroll, Purchasing, Inventory, Cost of Sales, CapEx, and Treasury.
  • Manage cash-flow reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
  • Prepare and present financial KPIs to Senior Leadership.
  • Analyze financial performance and explain variances.
  • Partner with Operations to develop performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Support S&OP, P&L forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
  • Maintain product and customer costing records.
  • Support Business Development and Engineering with new-business quotes.
  • Identify and manage cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Coordinate annual financial statement audits.
  • Support corporate tax compliance and required government surveys.
  • Lead annual physical inventory of Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and WIP.

A growing aerospace manufacturing company in the Hebron/Colchester, CT area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the Accounting function and support continued business growth.

The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, costing, inventory, internal controls, audits, and financial analysis while partnering closely with Operations and Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Accounting Department.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Accounting software experience; manufacturing ERP experience strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing costing and inventory experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a hands‑on approach.
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or MBA
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Manufacturing ERP experience
  • Experience managing an accounting team
  • Strong cost accounting background
Compensation

$120,000–$145,000 annually, with flexibility to go higher for an exceptional candidate.
