Job summary

Warner Music Group is seeking a Senior Accountant 2 to manage and advance accounting and reporting across labels and affiliates. You will review staff work, perform complex journal entries, monitor interfaces, and support the monthly close with strong attention to US GAAP and internal controls.

You will also reconcile cash activities, analyze variances, and collaborate with offshore teams to ensure timely deliverables. Automation with BlackLine and audit support are key growth areas in this role.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated US GAAP knowledge and monthly/quarterly close experience.
• Experience coordinating intercompany reconciliations and cash activity.
• Familiarity with SOX controls and internal control documentation.
• Ability to support external audits and tax reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review the work of entry-level staff and provide feedback for corrections and process improvements.
• Perform advanced accounting tasks and analyses to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
• Assist in the monthly close process, including preparing complex journal entries and monitoring sub-ledger interfaces.
• Reconcile corporate cash activities and intercompany cash netting with Cash and Treasury teams.
• Perform variance analyses related to system reconciliations and ad hoc requests for stakeholders.
• Assist with global intercompany reconciliation and resolve mismatches impacting the close.
• Collaborate with offshore teams by reviewing deliverables and providing feedback.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities within BlackLine to improve close efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls, and accounting policies.
• Assist with audit requests, tax reporting, and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Maintain relationships with business unit finance teams and cross-functional stakeholders.

A little bit about our team:

The Record to Report Accounting Team is responsible for managing all the center's accounting and cash management functions. As a critical component of the Record to Report Accounting Team, the Accounting Operations Group provides accounting services and support to WMG's US record labels and businesses.

Your role:

The Senior Accountant 2 is responsible for performing and managing advanced accounting and reporting activities across labels/affiliates and reviewing the work of staff and offshore resources.

Here you'll get to:

• Review the work of entry-level staff members and provide feedback for corrections and process improvements.
• Perform advanced accounting tasks and analyses to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Assist in the successful execution of the monthly close process, including preparing complex journal entries, monitoring sub-ledger interfaces, and ensuring the timely analysis, preparation, and submission of close-related deliverables.
• Reconcile corporate cash activities and the intercompany cash netting process by coordinating with the Cash and Treasury teams and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Perform variance analyses related to system reconciliations and ad hoc requests, providing timely support and explanations to stakeholders.
• Assist with the global intercompany reconciliation process by monitoring and resolving intercompany mismatches that impact the financial close.
• Collaborate with offshore team members by reviewing deliverables, providing feedback, and supporting the accurate and timely completion of assigned activities.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities within BlackLine to enhance the close process and improve operational effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, internal controls, accounting policies, and U.S. GAAP.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, tax reporting requirements, and the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
• Maintain strong working relationships with business unit finance teams and other stakeholders while supporting cross-functional initiatives and special projects as needed.

About you:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5-10 years of experience in Shared Service or Corporate Accounting and/or experience with a Big 4 CPA firm

Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000 Annually

Salary ranges are included for job postings where required by law. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as work experience and business needs. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
