Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly journal entries and make adjustments as needed.
• Provide detailed analysis of general ledger accounts and prepare reconciliations.
• Monitor activity in accounts to ensure proper recording of revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities.
• Maintain Chart of Accounts, Cost Pools and Financial Statement configuration.
• Prepare monthly and year-end closings.
• Prepare work papers and assist outside auditors.
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Prepare and file returns including sales and use tax, state/local tax, W-2 and ACA forms.
• Review accounts payable and sign checks.
• Prepare applications and allocations of various business insurances.
• Retirement plan oversight and 5500 filing.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure timely, accurate financial information.

Job Description

McLaughlin Research is hiring a Senior Accountant with 5-8 years relevant experience in New London CT. This position performs a wide variety of accounting duties in connection with the month end financial closing and preparation of financial statements as well as tax filings and required reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries, ensuring all activity is recorded and adjustments/ corrections are made
• Provide detailed analysis of various general ledger accounts and prepare appropriate reconciliations
• Monitor account transaction activity to ensure accurate and appropriate recording of revenues, expenses, assets and liabilities
• Maintain Chart of Accounts, Cost Pools and Financial Statement Configuration
• Prepare Monthly and Year end closings
• Prepare annual work papers and assist outside auditors
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules
• Prepare and file various returns including sales and use tax, state and local tax, W-2, ACA forms

Other responsibilities

• Review accounts payable and sign checks
• Prepare applications and allocations of various business insurances
• Retirement Plan over-site and 5500 Filing
• Work closely with the accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
