BJC is hiring for a Sr. Accountant. This is a remote position, but candidates must be local to the St. Louis area. We require at least 2 years of experience in accounting.

Role Purpose

Prepares and maintains financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles with analytical, evaluative, and advisory skills, requiring understanding of both accounting theory and practice.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain general ledger in accordance with GAAP.
2. Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements and reports.
3. Prepare journal entries and perform variance analysis of budget vs. actual results, explaining significant variances.
4. Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts.
5. Assist in regulatory reporting, including audits, tax filings, cost reports, and surveys.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience

Supervisor Experience

• No supervisory experience required

Preferred Requirements

Experience

• 5-10 years of experience preferred
