Job summary

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facets of accounting operations including AP, AR, and Payroll.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to inform decisions and assess financial status.
• Prepare accurate financial statements per schedule with input from the accounting team.
• Maintain ledgers and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Apply cost accounting expertise to provide timely financial recommendations.
• Prepare tax returns and corporate reporting; implement internal controls.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies; support and mentor the team.

Responsibilities

• Managing and overseeing all facets of the accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll.
• Conducting detailed financial analysis to provide insight into the company's financial status and to aid in decision-making processes.
• Preparing accurate financial statements in accordance with the established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
• Conducting regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation activities to ensure accuracy.
• Utilizing your expertise in cost accounting to analyze and interpret complex financial information and provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision-making purposes.
• Preparing tax returns and corporate reporting requirements.
• Implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Providing guidance and support to the accounting team, fostering an environment of learning and growth.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
• Proficiency in financial analysis, accounting, cost accounting, financial statements, tax preparation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to explain complex financial information in clear terms to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
