Job summary

McLane is seeking a Senior Accountant based in Carrollton, TX, joining a dynamic finance team. You will share responsibility for financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and budgeting, while collaborating with pricing and supply chain teams to drive accuracy and efficiencies across the organization.

The role emphasizes strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and clear communication as you support cross-departmental finance functions and controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA certification or in-progress preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong Excel/Office skills.
  • Experience with Oracle E‑Business Suite preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines.
  • English proficiency to perform job tasks safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support gross margin analysis across departments.
  • Ensure GAAP/SOX compliance and internal controls.
  • Assist in annual budget preparation.
  • Analyze Chain P&Ls to identify trends and discrepancies.

The Senior Accountant is jointly responsible for financial and accounting activities within a McLane Company, Inc. restaurant division.

This position is based in Carrollton, TX, which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50‑minute commute to Carrollton, TX.

What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant:

Share responsibility for all aspects of the financial reporting for McLane and its customers, such as:

  • Financial statement preparation and management including advanced balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support all departments in gross margin review and analysis.
  • Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX), McLane accounting policies, best practices and other internal controls.
  • Assist in preparing the annual budget.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of revenue accounting processes, including the review and analysis of Chain P&Ls to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Building and maintain strong working relationships with Pricing, Procurement, Supply chain Management teams, and other teams serving as a primary accounting resource and point of contact for assigned areas.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Senior Accountant:

  • Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA-in-progress preferred
  • Possess 3 or more years of accounting experience
  • Have strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Have Oracle E-Business Suite experience preferred
  • Possess strong analytical skills
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have the ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job‑related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
