Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Carrollton, TX office.

This role oversees financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP and SOX, with a focus on supporting multiple departments and the annual budget process. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting, 3+ years of accounting experience, and CPA or CPA-in-progress preferred, plus familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required or equivalency.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA or CPA-in-progress preferred.
• Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines.
• English reading/writing proficiency for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage financial statements with advanced balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support departments in gross margin review and analysis.
• Ensure GAAP, SOX, and internal controls compliance.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget.
• Analyze Chain P&Ls to identify trends and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Pricing, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams as primary accounting resource.
• Other duties may be assigned.

The Senior Accountant is jointly responsible for financial and accounting activities within a McLane Company, Inc. restaurant division.

This position is based in Carrollton, TX, which will require the candidate to report and work from the office on a regular basis. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute commute to Carrollton, TX.

What you’ll do as a Senior Accountant:

• Financial statement preparation and management including advanced balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support all departments in gross margin review and analysis.
• Maintain compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), McLane accounting policies, best practices and other internal controls.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget.
• Demonstrate advanced knowledge of revenue accounting processes, including the review and analysis of Chain P&Ls to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and resolve discrepancies.
• Building and maintain strong working relationships with Pricing, Procurement, Supply chain Management teams, and other teams serving as a primary accounting resource and point of contact for assigned areas.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a Senior Accountant:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA-in-progress preferred
• Possess 3 or more years of accounting experience
• Have Oracle E-Business Suite experience preferred
• Possess strong analytical skills
• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have the ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job‑related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
