Job summary

Osmose Utilities Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team.

This role is a key individual contributor responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting across the organization, including month-end close, general ledger reconciliations, and fixed assets accounting. You will maintain fixed asset records, support audits, and collaborate with subsidiaries to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification is preferred.
  • Experience supporting general ledger accounting and close functions.
  • Prior experience with fixed assets accounting and depreciation processes is required.
  • Exposure to multi-subsidiary or multi-entity environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and Excel proficiency with pivot tables.
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems; fixed asset modules are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full month-end and year-end close processes with journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and schedules.
  • Manage fixed assets accounting including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, and impairment analysis.
  • Maintain fixed asset subledger alignment with the general ledger.
  • Support periodic physical inventory and fixed asset audits with documentation.
  • Assist close activities across multiple subsidiaries and ensure policy adherence.
  • Prepare workpapers and analyses for internal reporting and external audits.
  • Collaborate with auditors and stakeholders to respond to requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls, especially fixed assets.

Osmose is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This role is a key individual contributor responsible for supporting accurate and timely financial reporting across the organization. The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in month-end and year-end close activities, general ledger reconciliations, fixed assets accounting, internal reporting, and audit support, while partnering closely with team members across multiple subsidiaries.

This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and is committed to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform full month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare and maintain general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Manage fixed assets accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, and impairment analysis in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset subledger, ensuring alignment with the general ledger.
  • Support periodic physical inventory and fixed asset audits, including preparation of supporting documentation.
  • Support close activities across multiple subsidiaries, ensuring consistency and adherence to accounting policies.
  • Prepare schedules, workpapers, and analysis used for internal reporting and external audits.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and auditors to respond to audit requests and inquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies, including those related to fixed assets.
  • Prepare, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc analysis as needed to support business initiatives.
Experience & Credentials
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience supporting general ledger accounting and close functions.
  • Prior experience with fixed assets accounting and depreciation processes required.
  • Exposure to multi-subsidiary or multi-entity environments is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems required; experience using fixed asset modules preferred.
  • Individual contributor role with no direct reports.
  • Fast-paced work environment with multiple concurrent deadlines.
  • Occasional extended hours may be required during month-end close, year-end close, and audit periods.
