Job summary

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue is seeking a Part-time Squash Instructor in Philadelphia, PA, to lead lessons, clinics, and supervised play for our members.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of teaching/coaching experience, CPR/AED and first aid certification, and ideally a US Squash Level 1 Coaching Certification or equivalent. You will help drive court usage and develop engaging events and programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years teaching/coaching in a fitness or athletic related environment.
• Current CPR/AED and first aid certification required.
• US Squash Level 1 Coaching Certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct exemplary lessons, clinics, organized drop-in play, and special events for members.
• Drive lesson sales and court usage of our facilities in accordance with Department of Athletics sales goals and court utilization.
• Provide members personalized lessons, drills, and activities.
• Have a deep understanding of the game and its fundamentals, staying on top of current equipment trends.
• Manage their time and client appointments.
• Work with team members to keep a clean and orderly work environment.
• Work with Director of Athletics to produce new ideas, special events, and provide meaningful feedback to boost The Sporting Club Squash program.
• Elevate the entire club staff by providing knowledge and expertise gained through their professional experience, knowledge, and training.

Salary Range: $22.00 To $25.00 Hourly

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue has an exciting opportunity for a Part-time Squash Instructor to join our growing team. We are looking for an expert in the field of squash to conduct lessons, clinics, competitive play oversight, and provide the best service for the club members.

As experts in the field of squash, our instructors are required to assist and be a point of contact with any inquiries about the program. In addition, our instructors are encouraged to demonstrate patience and enthusiasm to motivate members to accomplish their squash goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Conduct exemplary lessons, clinics, organized drop-in play, and special events for members
• Drive lesson sales and court usage of our facilities in accordance with Department of Athletics sales goals and court utilization
• Provide members personalized lessons, drills, and activities
• Have a deep understanding of the game and its fundamentals, staying on top of current equipment trends
• Manage their time and client appointments
• Work with team members to keep a clean and orderly work environment

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years teaching/coaching in a fitness or athletic related environment
• Current CPR/AED and first aid certification required
• The following certification is preferred and/or a plus:
• US Squash Level 1 Coaching Certification or equivalent

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

• Proficient use of hardware and software programs, including MS Office, Club Automation and Payroll processing
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong Interpersonal skills
• Excellent customer service focus, professionalism, and discretion

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 25 pounds daily
• Ability to sit, stand and walk around the Club for various lengths of time and at various points in time throughout a scheduled shift
• Ability to proficiently operate computer hardware and software on a daily basis
• Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and guests

Compensation and Scheduling

• $22 - 25/hourly; Rate will vary for clinic and lesson instruction
• 20 - 25/hours per week
