Calance is seeking an experienced SQL Server DBA for an onsite 1-year contract to administer and optimize Microsoft SQL databases. You will design, implement, and maintain database components, and develop reporting infrastructure to serve multiple business units.

Responsibilities include performance tuning, patching, upgrades, and coordinating with application teams to meet reporting needs. You will also manage data imports/exports, backups, testing, and ensure security and compliance.

We have a contract opportunity with one of our major clients. They are looking for a SQL Server DBA- onsite for an important project.

Position: SQL Server DBA- onsite

Duration: Contract : 1 year

Job Description:

Administer and manage Microsoft SQL databases; administer and manage software programs; design and develop DBA components.

Develop and enhance / modify reporting infrastructure – to provide custom and adhoc reports to various business units across the enterprise.

Database performance tuning, troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Install, patch, and upgrade SQL Server Databases; develop SQL program instructions.

Provide appropriate consulting, interfacing and training for information system users.\

Collaborate with all the Business Users, Application End Users to understand the reporting requirements and develop innovative solutions to provide the necessary reports utilizing various web interfaces and programming tools.

Import, export and back-up data between different software programs as required.

Perform software enhancement testing prior to release for production use.

Develop, maintain and enhance intranet software.

Review and analyze database design and integration of systems, recommend enhancements and/or improvements.

Develop procedures and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.

Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Buyer. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests

Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs,

Reviewing service-related reports (e.g.: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) daily to ensure servicerelated issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs

Responding effectively to database monitoring alerts and escalations

Collaborate with Application, Business and Database teams to come up with well-defined and strategic solutions to recurring problems.
