Job summary

Albano Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior SQL Server DBA to manage on-premises SQL Server environments while advancing Fabric integration and automation. You will support production databases, optimize performance, and ensure HA/DR and security, all while modernizing DBA processes with CI/CD, scripting, and IaC.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, database migrations, and Fabric Data Warehouse, including Lakehouse/OneLake integrations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience.
• Strong experience with SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 (or the versions you currently run).
• Database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
• Performance tuning: query optimization, indexing, execution plans, wait statistics.
• Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, particularly: Fabric Data Warehouse.
• Understanding of integration between traditional SQL Server environments and modern cloud/data platforms; data migration from on-prem SQL Server to Fabric/Azure.

Responsibilities

• Support production databases and perform performance tuning.
• Modernize DBA processes through CI/CD, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployments.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting production databases, performance tuning, HA/DR, security, and disaster recovery while helping modernize DBA processes through CI/CD, scripting, infrastructure-as-code, and automated database deployments.

7+ years of hands-on Microsoft SQL Server DBA experience
