Job summary

Hoosier Energy is seeking a data platforms engineer to administer and optimize enterprise SQL Server databases, while building and supporting Power BI reporting solutions. The role includes managing the Alation Data Catalog and supporting data governance, stewardship, and metadata management initiatives.

Candidate will collaborate with business units, application owners, and vendors to deliver secure, governed data services and scalable analytics capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

• Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases and related backups/recovery.
• Proficiency designing and delivering Power BI reports, data models, and DAX measures.
• Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage practices.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, secure, and optimize SQL Server databases.
• Design, develop, and support Power BI dashboards and datasets.
• Administer the Alation Data Catalog and support data governance activities.
• Collaborate with data owners, developers, and business analysts to deliver reliable data services.
• Develop ETL/ELT processes and automate repetitive tasks to improve reliability.
